Earlier this year the Chapter conducted a survey to determine where membership thought the Chapter should focus educational opportunities. The results of the survey were the basis for the Edmonton CSSE Education Plan.
Memberships primary top topic of interest is the changes to OHS Legislation in Alberta. As a result, we are pleased to offer a one-day workshop with facilitators from Alberta Labour and WCB.
Alberta Labour Objective - The objective of this session is a thorough understanding of the OHS Legislation changes that came into effect on June 1,
WCB Objective: The objective of this session is for participants to develop a working knowledge of an employer’s responsibilities regarding the new legislative obligation to reinstate injured workers and continued coverage under the employer’s health benefits program.

Workshop Facilitators
OHS - Melissa MacDonald has been an Occupational Health and Safety Officer with the Alberta Government for the last 7 years based out of Edmonton. Melissa is currently a member of the newly formed Internal Responsibility and Resolution Unit (IRRU) within the OHS Delivery department which focuses on subjects like psychological hazards, dangerous work refusals and potentially serious incidents in the workplace. Her most recent work has been focused on the development of Psychological Health and Safety legislation and educating workplace parties on the OHS Act legislation changes.
WCB - Sanjeev Bhagrath has been with WCB for nine years. Over his time with WCB he has worked as an Adjudicator, Case Manager, Claims Resolution, Surgical Coordinator, and currently works as an Account Manager. During this time he has developed a strong
