Topic: Leadership – A Winning Attitude

Pat will share his journey and insights on leadership and ways we can recognize and attain a winning attitude to overcome difficulties, win people over, effectively communicate, and turn problems into opportunities.

Taking on the team philosophy, Pat believes a strong safety culture with effective leadership is only achieved when personal responsibility and accountability become a collective effort amongst all team members.

Speaker: Pat Cantner
Vice President, Health, Safety & Environment
               CEDA

Pat joined the CEDA team in 2013 and was appointed Vice President of Health, Safety & Environment. Previous to joining CEDA, Pat held several senior leadership positions in the private and public sectors. He has over 24 years of experience in developing and implementing programs and systems that positively impact workplace safety environments and performance.

Passionately committed to growing safety cultures, Pat is known for his proactive approach in developing leaders and mentoring HSE teams. He adheres to the belief that building strong relationships with operational leaders throughout the organization is the winning formula for influencing positive safety behaviors.

His strong sense of team comes from his experience as an athlete, which culminated in a 1982 Vanier Cup Championship with the University of British Columbia and a 1984 Grey Cup win with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Taking that team philosophy, Pat believes that strong safety cultures are only achieved when personal responsibility and accountability becomes a collective effort amongst all team members.

Pat’s journey would not have been possible without the support of his wonderful wife Deb and his three grown sons.

We hope to see you there!
