The Alberta Construction Safety Association’s Parkland Regional Safety Committee would like to invite you to the Fallen Worker Tribute grand opening ceremony and asset hand over to the City of Red Deer. This Tribute was 100% funded by cash and in-kind donations from local non-profit safety organizations, businesses and individuals plus hundreds of volunteer hours. This ceremony will be held at the Bower Ponds Stage. The itinerary will include:

  • Speeches from dignitaries
  • Keynote speech from Rebecca Orr who lost her husband, Lance James Orr, to a workplace tragedy on May 8, 2009
  • Video on how the project progressed
  • Ribbon cutting ceremony

We will also have cake and refreshments available after the ceremony.

Parkland Regional Safety Committee wanted to build a structure that would provide families, friends and co-workers affected by workplace tragedy with a nice area to rest and reflect but also to bring awareness to the general public on workplace tragedies and the importance of workplace health and safety. Bower Ponds recreational area is the perfect location for this Tribute and we appreciate all the help we received from City staff on getting this project in motion to completion.

Please RSVP to Rob Fehr at rob@shunda.ca if you plan to attend so we can ensure we have enough refreshments.
